As Vice President of Development, Christe brings over 13 years of experience managing and entitling complex urban infill projects. Christe was instrumental in developing the code and obtaining entitlements for Portland’s South Waterfront District, the last major undeveloped area in Portland’s central core. Development in SOWA is expected to reach $1.9 billion during the next 7 to 10 years, resulting in a high density, mixed-use sustainable neighborhood served by a world class Greenway, light rail and the Portland Aerial Tram. Christe was also instrumental in the redevelopment of Cascade Station, a retail/industrial development at the gateway to the Portland International Airport, master planning and entitlement review for the retention and expansion of OHSU, an academic medical health center and the University of Portland. Christe earned her law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Order of the Coif, and has been recognized since 2004 as a Leading Lawyer for Business, in Chambers USA. Prior to joining WDD, Christe was a Partner at Ball Janik LLP. Christe is a frequent speaker in land use and real estate seminars on successful permitting strategies, transferred development rights and the constitutional limitations of exactions.
